Pat Fleming on the Issues

Pat is ready to work full-time for the people of Arizona, and do what is right for Arizona families and communities.  Her career as a resource manager, and her commitment to financial responsibility, will make her a perfect fit in the Arizona House of Representatives.  Pat has numerous issues she will address as your Representative that include, but are not limited to:

Affordable Health Care All Arizonans deserve easy access to preventive medical attention, physical and mental, and affordable prescription drugs. They should not have to wait until an illness becomes an emergency before they see a doctor.  We need to preserve programs like Health Care Group for our small businesses. A healthy Arizonan is a happy and productive Arizonan.   World Class Education All Arizonans deserve a world-class education in order to compete in the work places and businesses throughout our state. Rural Arizona needs to support the best qualified teachers with smaller class sizes, and school support staff with salaries commensurate with the importance of their chosen profession.    Economic Security Arizonans are deeply concerned about the economic outlook in 2008 and beyond.  Most agree that our economic security will depend on how we treat our citizens.  Businesses rely on a workforce that is available locally, educated, healthy and motivated.  Arizonans realize that growth might be inevitable, but that growth must be managed in ways that ensure a healthy Arizona.   Healthy Environment Arizonans cherish our environment, and want to be good stewards of land, air, water, skies, water supplies and wildlife.  We need to consider limiting groundwater pumping near rivers, while considering the needs of our farmer and ranchers, balancing their agricultural needs while still protecting our riparian habitats.    Energy Independence Arizonans are willing to invest in solar power.  We should consider offering larger subsidies, extending investment tax credits to help those of us who can’t afford to install solar panels, hot water heaters, and other kinds of solar power products.
