June 19, 2008
Pat Fleming, Democratic candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives, Legislative District 25 kicked off her Marana campaign on Monday, June 9. Ten volunteers joined Fleming on Monday and Tuesday evening to reach out to approximately 215 voters in the Continental Ranch Area. One of the volunteers who joined in support of Fleming was Ric Boyer, also a democratic candidate for the House of Representatives LD 25, (pictured with Pat).
Fleming said, “I am excited and encouraged by the response and reception we received from voters. As Fleming queried voters on issues, voters indicated the economy was their biggest issue at this time. She said, “They were also interested in health care, education, jobs, and the environment.”
Fleming and her volunteers will be back in Marana on June 25 to meet more voters, and to hear their issues and concerns. If you live in precinct 041, you may get the opportunity to meet Fleming and share your issues and concerns. Fleming said “If you miss me in Marana, please visit my website www.fleming2008.com and share your views.”
Pat Fleming, a retired federal budget analyst, and long time Sierra Vista resident is a “fiscal conservative who knows how to fund vital programs without frivolous spending.”
“District 25 taxpayers deserve a better return on the tax dollars they spend on government programs,” she said. “Our children deserve a world-class education that prepares them to be productive citizens. Our seniors deserve to live in dignity and deserve our respect after a lifetime of paying taxes. Our broken healthcare system needs repair.”
During her 24-year career, Fleming served as Civilian Budget and Manpower Analyst for the Department of the Army. Fleming states, “At a time when our state government is facing a $3 billion shortfall, the Legislature needs me to help bring more efficiency to our budgeting process.”
“In all my time working to improve our community, I’ve learned how important it is to do the right thing,” Fleming said. “We need more voices in the Legislature standing up for average Arizonans, and those who can’t speak for themselves, like children, the elderly and those with serious illnesses.”
